This cross-sectional literature review examines the molecular mechanisms underlying autism spectrum disorder (ASD). By synthesizing existing research, it explores the genetic and biological pathways that contribute to ASD, which may include genes such as POGZ linked to White-Sutton syndrome. The review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of current understanding of ASD pathogenesis at the molecular level.
