POGZ Mutant Mice Show Abnormal Brain Activity During Social Behavior
Researchers studied a mouse model carrying POGZ mutations associated with autism spectrum disorder to understand how brain activity is affected during social interactions. The study focused on the anterior cingulate cortex, a brain region involved in social and cognitive processing, and found abnormal neural activity in this area during social behavior. These findings may help shed light on the neurological basis of social difficulties seen in White-Sutton syndrome and related conditions.
